The Buddha Odyssey is the Nepal tour organiser of choice for Canberra schools and universities. We are on the way to be organising tours for Canberra Schools & Universities in 2018.
Nepal is a hugely diverse, spectacular cultural destination for students of any age group.
Community Project is a school program that takes the groups on a two week journey to Nepal where students learn to think on their feet, work together and gain real-world resilience. Through the program students are allowed to work as a team as they travel through villages of Nepal. The Program includes a community project; a trek through inspiring terrain; and sightseeing – all while engaging with locals and their cultural traditions.
Choosing Nepal as your expedition destination offers students the opportunity to encounter an alternative culture and mind broadening experiences that can last a lifetime. Nepal has always been the destination that captivated the interest of any age group, be it trekking, cycling or experiencing a different culture setting. After the Earthquake in April 2015, The Buddha Odyssey has established the Reach for Nepal foundation, to assist with the rebuild efforts in Rural Nepal and also work with the young and vulnerable to provide them with opportunity and optimism. The adventure is guaranteed as we know the country throughout and could tailor make the trip according to the interest of the group.
After arrival the team will enjoy a couple of days exploring the sights of Kathmandu. This includes fascinating world heritage sites like Buddhist and Hindu temples, and also to the famous Monkey Temple where you will get up and close with the monkeys and get a birds-eye view of Kathmandu from the lookout. This time will allow you to adjust to the different culture before embarking on the next stage of your expedition.
Next you will take a bus to beautiful city of Pokhara. Here you will have a day to explore the city and prepare for the adventure of your lifetime. We embark on 2-3 days trekking around the Annapurna Region – world renowned for its beauty! At the end of the trip, you will reach the community project site.
The project is based in a village school Annapurna region of Nepal. The school team will spend next 3 days living and working alongside the villagers and school kids. You will be led by the local builders to assist in you rebuild project. There is plenty of time for the group to interact with local students/children about culture and beyond. Our strong and on-going relationship with the village community ensure the projects are well managed, risk-assessed and of course; really do contribute meaningfully to the lives of the local people.
Then it’s time to pack up and be back to Kathmandu via Pokhara. There is plenty of time to shop and we say goodbye after a cultural dinner program.
The safety of the group is our prime concern. Rest assured - we offer a unique and memorable experience of a lifetime.
We pride on our skills to provide best customer service be it here in Australia or in Nepal. The wholeteam has a vast amount of knowledge and skills in adventure, trekking, cycling and a track record of concluding these trips on a positive note.
